P.A. priest dies — Rev. Ted Jerome died March 21 at the age of 81. Born in 1928 in Rosetown, Sask., Jerome entered the OMI novitiate at Battleford as a lay brother in 1950, making his perpetual vows in 1957. While working at Queen’s House in Saskatoon he earned a BA, then a bachelor of theology degree from Newman Theological College in Edmonton. After more than three decades as a religious brother, Jerome was ordained to the diocesan priesthood in 1985. He served numerous parishes in the diocese, retiring from active ministry in 2004 to serve as chaplain at Victoria Hospital and the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert. In August 2004, he retired completely.
