LAND BLESSED — Archbishop Daniel Bohan May 29 blessed a small piece of land next to Resurrection Parish, site of the parish’s new church. Official sod turning and a barbecue occurred a week later June 4 to start the approximately $4 million structure. Resurrection Parish came into being in August 2000. A church hall was constructed shortly after which also served as the church and that mortgage was paid off last fall. Fundraising chair Rob Bresciani said about $2 million has already been committed to the project. When completed some time in early spring/summer 2013 the church will accommodate about 700-750 in the pews, but attached to the hall through a “flex wall” another 500-600 could be accommodated.
