SILVER ROSE — A silver rose being carried through Saskatchewan as part of an international Knights of Columbus tribute to Our Lady of Guadalupe was brought to the provincial convention of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada June 1 in Saskatoon. Grand Knight Paul Caves of the Holy Spirit Parish K of C council presented the rose and its story to the women gathered for the convention. Three sculpted silver roses are traveling from council to council across Canada, the United States and Mexico, in the Silver Rose Run, an event that began in 1960. Along the way, prayer services and other devotions are being organized. The roses will arrive in Monterrey, Mexico on Dec. 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. |
