St. Boniface clergy assignments anounced

ST. BONIFACE — Archbishop Albert LeGatt, DD, has announced the assignments of priests in the Archdiocese of St. Boniface. Unless otherwise agreed on with those concerned, appointments are effective Aug. 1.

Rev. Gérard Dionne will resign as pastor of Ste.-Marie Parish (St.Vital) and as priest in charge of the Laotian Catholic Mission, while remaining available for occasional ministry.

Rev. Tuan Quoc Doan, parochial administrator of St. Philip Minh Parish, has completed his term in the Archdiocese of St. Boniface and returns to the Diocese of Prince Albert.

Rev. Dominic La Fleur, on loan to the Diocese of Prince Albert during the past year, is appointed pastor of St. Adolphe Parish.

Rev. Francisco Javier Londoño Londoño, priest of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Osos, Colombia, parochial administrator of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Parish, will complete his term in the Archdiocese of St. Boniface at the end of 2010 and return to his home diocese.

Rev. Gerry Sembrano, who has completed his studies in theology in Rome, is appointed parochial assistant at St. Timothy Parish.

Rev. Joseph Tran, who was on a sabbatical leave, will complete his three-year term as pastor at St. Philip Minh Parish.

Seminarian Paul Blair will complete his pastoral internship at St. Boniface Cathedral Parish this summer and resume his theological studies at. St. Joseph’s Seminary in Edmonton.

With the approval of their major superior, Rev. Guillaume Mabilu, I.V.Dei, will continue ministry in St. Georges Parish and will pursue his studies of the English language, while Rev. Gérald Michaud, I.V.Dei, having completed his six-year term as pastor of St. Adolphe Parish, will be involved, after a period of rest, in other forms of pastoral ministry.
