REGINA — Archbishop Daniel Bohan has announced two additional clergy moves affective immediately: Rev. Juanito Vargas moves from St. Albert Parish, Mankota, to become administrator of St. John the Baptist, Estevan; Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Macoun; and St. Monica, Bienfait. This appointment is for six years, “unless otherwise indicated or the good of the archdiocese requires otherwise,” said the archbishop in his letter announcing the appointments. Vargas’s previous responsibilities of St. Albert in Mankota, St. Joseph in Glentworth, Ste. Therese in Wood Mountain, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Val Marie and St. John the Baptist in Ferland will be handled by the priests from the Gravelbourg/Moose Jaw deanery.

Rev. Joseph Kuruvilla becomes associate priest for Holy Rosary Cathedral and Blessed Sacrament parishes in Regina. Blessed Sacrament, Regina’s downtown Roman Catholic Church and the oldest Catholic Church in the city, will now be served from Holy Rosary Cathedral. Kuruvilla arrived at the Regina archdiocese in July from Kerala, India. He is a member of the Missionary Society of St. Thomas.
